This black trim around the center console must be like a 100 on the Rockwell scale. Try as I might, I find it to be completely unscratchable and unmarrable.

It is the finest quality material I have ever seen and I am sure that it would take a blade of pure black diamond...possibly even kryptonite...to scuff it or scratch it.

What are your experiences?

In my car, no one is allowed to touch the center console and I have been known to bat inquisitive hands away from it.

You may want to check to be sure that your Rockwell hardness scale is not turned upside down

You may have something there.

It might be worth while to use some steel wool on the trim to create a worry free finish.

We can call it brushed obsidian.

Sounds like there might be a real carbon fiber interior trim replacement soon from KPE. Might what to see how that looks and goes. I know I am looking forward to that. Brushed aluminum would look good at well.

Wood just does not belong in sports sedans IMO.
