Uhh no. The 1997 PCM data is software based. There is not a chip. You need a GM techline terminal and a Tech2 to program the PCM.

The software is VIN based. There are no changes or adjustments available thru the PC terminal.

.15 cent resister from Radio Shack. They have you plug the resister in place of the IAT sensor.

If not performance chips try some potato chips. Your greasy hands slipping off the 275-300 hp Northstar steering wheel should give you some thrills.

To put it bluntly, there's a reason Cadillac used a $40 sensor instead of a $0.15 resistor. It's there to help the PCM calculate air density. What you see here, is one of the more prevalant E-Bay scams. Some more info: http://cadillacforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=767

THANKS MUCH!

Now I know what exactly to do with mine. I knew it sounded to good to be true. Just needed to waste a few dollars to find out for sure. Fortunately I didn't put it in after I got it.

Check www.superchips.com. They are in Florida. They're chips run about $250 and are programmed for a variety of cars. I had one in my '93 STS and have one now in my '93 Allante.

MY '97 STS is fine the way it is so haven't invested in a SuperChip for it. If I ever get time to work on the exhaust system and intake system I may get a SuperChip as well.

Read their website for a ton more information on their chips.

That Superchips link looks good... Also some companies offer complete REPLACEMENT PCM units that have been reprogrammed for higher performance but I dont know if that application exists for the Cadillac, and its usually expensive.

this has to be the 20th time i posted this, no one ever remembers.

domesticperformance.com has the hook up to get a 96-98 northstar reprogramed. your looking at $450 for a general pcm replacement, or $550 to have your car custom tuned.
