As opposed to those computer files you work with and delete/reset every day, the long-term stuff that never gets changed, like the basic Operating System.

Most of the modules in the car have short-term memory which can be changed by your key fob or feature programming, but that doesn't alter the basic program function of the module/equipment.

Is the code Current or History ?? Any warning lights or driveability problems ??

If the code is History, leave it alone and it will self-clear after 40 start-run cycles during which no fault is set.

If you clear PCM codes within two or three weeks of an emissions test the car will fail because the system needs to prove out again and present a "ready" signal to the test station. It takes a while for everything to settle out.

Not sure about current or history.I will check. No driveability issues. How do you clear the code without OBDII code reader.

As Ranger posted, its all built into the car. You don't need a code reader. The car comes with one installed at the factory.
