When installing an Edelbrock some use the pan gasket and some don't. My question is this. Is the pan gasket some sort of heat shield for the manifold or is this just the technology of the time?
It is a heat sheild. Some people like to use composite gaskets, etc with the Edelbrock, but the valley pan is really the best. you just need to make sure you seal it up good with some silicon
