It's hard to tell from the pics, but might be caused by rust under the paint. If they suddenly appeared, would also indicate rust. Water could have intruded thru the holes for the high mounted stop light?

Corrosion warranty (at least on my 13) is 6 years, unlimited miles. If same applies to your 15 Canadian, can't hurt to have them check to see if it's rust bubbles.

We call this defect paint blistering. The most common cause is poor rework by use of body filler. I believe the trunk lid is an aluminum panel, it should not have rusted. Are you able to tell if the paint is original?

As far as I know, everything is original. I'm the first owner and never had body work done. I guess the only possibility is that the dealer had some work done before I bought it.

I'll be visiting the dealer soon, for other service, so I will ask about this.

After cleaning the car I noticed that the paint is chipping on exactly this place. Just below the third brake light. Seems that the third brake lights is rubbing on the trunk lid. Anyone had this problem before? Factory Spoiler is installed. Maybe it’s from closing the trunk by pressing the spoiler down?
