Just pulled the P039 code which mean tcc/vcc problem. Makes sense because the car is not shifting properly, especially when I was going up a hill today. I figured it was some problem with the transmission. How can I fix this problem? Does it probably need new shift solenoids, a torque converter, or even worse a rebuild? Anyone know if you have to remove the tranny on a 93 eldo to replace the solenoids or torque converter. Is this something anyone has ever done themselves? Thanks for the help. Its really cold I dont want to have to drive my motorcycle.

From what I have learned over the years, the problem is often that the silicone fluid inside the VCC (aka Torque converter) has been contaminated with tranny fluid.

If you're lucky, you'll find a bad brake switch or some supect wiring. That will cost you a bit of time and a few dollars.

The worse case is that the VCC needs to be replaced as well as the associated solenoids. I don't know how much this will cost, but I suspect it will be quite a bit.

The link looks like a fix for people who are throwing the code but not having any transmission problems. My engine code isnt "y" anyway its a "9". Thanks though. anyone else had this problem???
