Re: Got codes? Look here!

Hi everyone, I'm new here, but was wondering if anyone can help me with the code I have on my 95 eldorado, I'm getting PO23, which I've learned is for the timing ,but have no idea where or what to look for to fix, also have service engine soon light, which is probably due to PO23, can anyone help? PS: Love this site. Thanks Brett.:cool2:

P023 (E023)-----Electronic Spark Timing (EST) Signal problem [EGR]

Well You made me curious so I looked it up.

Here these should be of use to you:

hmm, strange how one ended up bigger than the other. Anyways, Right click them and choose "save as" because I'm not sure how long they will be up.

Welcome to the forum.

Another member recently had this same code and it ended up being the Ignition Control Module (ICM). I really doubt your PCM is at fault. The EGR on the end of that code description shouldn't be there.

The ICM is located under the four coil packs. The coil packs are bolted to it and there are four small harnesses connected, two on each side.

Hi Brett, have you already fixed the problem with the p023? I have the same trouble with my 95 eldo and had already changed the ICM and the EGR Valve, i think it is the PCM like eldyfig wrote or have you another solution. Best regards Franz

Hi, everyone, sorry I've been away, no, I have not found the problem yet, I bought a factory shop manual cause I plan on keeping this car a long time. The car runs great, we are getting great milage, and good power, the light went off for about a day or so, but has returned. I troubleshot from the book, and all modules checked OK, the last part of the troubleshooting string is bad connections. I've cleaned, and used dielectric grease on all the connections, but have had no success. The car has 107k on it, and I'm all out of ideas, anyone want to weigh in?
