I got to try the Magic Box 2.0 which a friend let me borrow for a week. I ordered the Ottocast p3 because it was just released on 4/2024 vs the magic box which is 2 years old with Android 10. The magic box would loose connection and every time I wanted to use it I would have to manually connect the internet in settings. The quality on the Ottocast p3 feels like it was made from Apple. The magicbox feels cheap. I also like that you can change the colors on the Ottocast p3 and make the colors dance with music. I have no complaints on the Ottocast p3. I was able to download every app. The magic box comes with Hulu installed vs the Ottocast p3 that you have to download. I was about to return the Ottocast p3 because it didn’t download Hulu through the play store then I found out there is an App Store called apk download and searched Hulu and it installed perfectly in a minute. I was also able to download Ring for my door camera. I like the widgets on the Ottocast p3 and the customization for the Home Screen. I also like that the Ottobox has a SD slot, SIM card slot and HDMI out. The remote is also easier to use on the Ottocast p3 and is not huge like the magic box. The remote has a button that turns it into a cursor mouse that you can point like a presentation style mouse. The Ottocast p3 has 128 vs 64 gig memory and twice the ram. It is way faster and more responsive. The Ottocast p3 is $30 more but it’s so worth it. Ottocast also makes an adapter that will give you a HDMI input so you can connect your TV stick of your choice. The only thing bad about it is that you don’t get the touch screen.
