hi all,

this has been bothering me for a while. I have NEVER heard of other cars needing this intercooler bleed custom solution that our beloved V-Sports need. mine is a 2014 and to my knowledge, the bleed and fill has never been done. yet mine seems to have no loss of power or PSI boost. nevertheless it nags me in the back of my mind, because thats just how I am about cars lol. it has made me actually paranoid about the intercooler, because the Youtube video looks completely ridiculous, plunging and bleeding little bubbles one at a time with no one having a clue how to keep bubbles from getting into the system again, and tapout themselves saying you just gotta do it over and over as regular maintenance….its got me wondering. are there other cars that utilize high performance twin turbo setups that engineered and designed their intercooler in a superior way to our V-Sports so that they dont have to worry about this issue?

At 6 years and 52,000 miles I took mine to the dealer who did a power flush and replace. Jet Fuel Only has the patience and skill to do it himself with the tools available to him. After 8 years I would replace the fluid. Either way works.

are there other cars that don’t have this issue and are twin turbo’s with intercooler? i did look on ZZP and they sell an intercooler self bleeding reservoir upgrade by the way.
It's easy to address. No special kit is needed, just an 8" length of 3/4" heater hose to slip over the large Schrader fill valve, a 3/8" ratchet extension to depress the valve, and a small pitcher of coolant to pour down the hose. Assemble a fused piece of wire (don't skip the fuse!!) with an alligator clip and sharp probe, remove fuse 51 and apply 12V with the probe to run the pump while filling the hose and depressing the valve. Only one side of the fuse contacts will connect your 12V probe to the pump.

The intercooler is an excellent design, resulting in near-zero turbo lag and excellent thermal performance. An occasional bleed is trivially easy, once you know how.
