My first time I ever ordered a new car I ordered a 2026 Cadillac CT5-V and when I went to pick it up it was dirty all over, it had a flat and the windows have a distorted wavy view when you look through them. I was shocked Cadillac has evidently such a bad inspection process that they either knew the windows and door panels were messed up and passed it or didn't even look at them or inspect the car at all. My dealership missed everything also during their final inspection. The dealer told me they didn't find anything about window issues and they doubted Cadillac would do anything about the defective windows or scratches in door panels. I was shocked when they told me that about my new $70,000 car. The dealership acted like scratches are acceptable and I can't imagine I should accept the scratches or the distorted windows and feel my only recourse is hiring an attorney which will cost lots of money, but I hate to live with getting screwed over by dealer and or Cadillac. I don't know if I can capture distorted view in a pic. What do you think?

See our Cadillac Customer Care and warranty problems forum. Talk to your BBB. Write a Yelp review. Ask the dealership service/sales manager to eloevate your problems to Regional for action. Something is fishy and you are not alone - nowhere near alone - in having significant new Cadillac quality control and dealership delivery issues.

Unacceptable! You're not paying pennies for that car, Sir.
You can either take the car as is but ask for a HUGE discount from the retail price or demand a brand-new vehicle and not a "look, it's almost like new, except for a few scratches here and there" Cadillac in such condition.

Warm regards from Baja, MX!

They had my $1,000 deposit so I didn't dare walk away and I didn't notice the defective windows that were distorted until the next day because I wasn't feeling well the day I picked up the car. The car had never been cleaned and had black stuff running down sides from trims and spots so it was difficult to see clearly out the front windshield of my new white car had a flat tire that had to be replaced, they said it was ruined and they pulled a tire from a car with 4000 miles on it and put on my new car that I found out on my own all the mileage on tire and scratches on 2 door panels that I noticed just as we were looking at the car as we were about to leave. I trusted the dealership, so I didn't inspect the car until I noticed issues. They promised $500 from Cadillac but I've owned cars for years and never scratched up the interior like this, so I wanted the door panels replaced. Looking out the windows, everything is very wavy and distorted so I don't see how everyone didn't notice or didn't care.

If the car you brought home is not less than 20 miles, I bet you that someone returned the car to the dealership (with these flaws) and the staff didn't notice the damages. And because they refused to cope with losses, they passed them to the next customer, which was (sadly) you.

This could be seen as controversial by you guys, but if I were in your shoes, I'd take the car as is only if the dealer gives me something more meaningful in return, The offer of $500 dollars is ridiculous IMO. Stand your ground and demand the car to be fixed properly if you're not willing to settle. And escalate the situation as far as you can afford it.

Warm regards from Baja, MX!

Only 3 miles were on the car when I picked it up. The salesman text me 2 times. First text was a Friday as I was out of town going to my grandson's wedding making it sound like I need to pick it up now and I replied I'd pick up Monday. Then Monday the salesman text me again wanting to know when I was going to come get the car so I called and he said the car can't be picked up because it wasn't ready yet which I didn't appreciate him making me feel like I had to rush over to get the car when it wasn't going to be ready till at least Wednesday and even then it was dirty, had a flat tire that could not be fixed, scratches on 2 door panels, defective windows. I won't say who the dealership was but it is in Stillwater Oklahoma. The salesman came out to look at the door panel scratches and he brought a spray and microfiber rag and tried to clean the scratches off. My son noticed scratches in the clear coat and the salesman started rubbing the top of the car and the body with this microfiber rag. I then stopped him and said look what you are doing, you are scratching the clear coat and he said that is what they use to clean cars with and I said go do that to a black colored car and he'll see that it scratches the clear coat. Now I also have lots of scratches in my what was a flawless paint or clearcoat that you can see. I then read reviews online that told of car orders that they raised the price from what was agreed on when a deposit was placed and car ordered and told the customers if they don't like it and won't pay the new price once the car their ordered car arrived that they can just go purchase a car somewhere else. I wish I had seen those customer reviews prior to my ordering mine.

I thought so too and was shocked but believe it could only have been purposely passed because it's easy to find tons of people online that have had distorted windows, many coming out of Canada for many years, so you'd think they'd be looking for this issue at the factory. You cannot miss noticing the windows are distorted so I believe they must have known my car had defective windows. The driver and passenger windows are so distorted that it can make you feel sick and dizzy looking out as you are driving.

I've been ordering new vehicles for over 50 years. My experience is that if you are not happy with ANYTHING no matter how small, you should NEVER take delivery until it's corrected to YOUR satisfaction, PERIOD. Once you take delivery they have no incentive to do anything especially if they are a marginal operation and it sounds like they fit the bill here. Sorry that this is your experience and I hope that they will make it right. DO NOT give up, this is ponderous....

You have to read and understand the contract/order. Usually if you back out they just keep your deposit and sell the car. If you order something crazy the order might obligate you to take it, usually not. Refusing to take delivery because you don't want the car and refusing to take delivery because a issue(s) need addressed is something totally different. Sure $1,000 is a lot of money but being UNHAPPY 24/7 is something that you'll never put a price on. A thousand dollars becomes a mute point when you are unhappy and besides yourself, right? I personally would be 150% more worried about my happiness/satisfaction than the money. You only retain control if you don't take delivery if you are not satisfied....

I read online reviews (after I purchased), and if you believe them, you would certainly not get your deposit back and I'm not going to allow anyone to take my hard earned money that easy so that option is out of the question for me. If Cadillac and the dealership decided to screw a customer (me), then I'd do what it took to change that through the State Attorney General and a civil lawsuit, and it would become about principle. Someone has to stand up for what is right, I would be that person!
