I've been wondering this. In the next upcomming months I planned on purchasing a used 2002 or 2003 Escalade. With all this talk of the 2007's, do you think that the 02-06 Escalades are going to look like Dinosaurs? I was thinking about changing my vehicle choice to an H2 but they are still pretty expensive. Owners, what do you think?

Its about what you think. Take a look at the 99 and 00 Escalades. Those were the old body style before the current style. Think about those. If you think those are dinosaurs than dont get an 02 or 03. I know some people that think the old body styles are crap and others still think that the 99s and 00 are hot. So if you think that 00 and 99s are still in and not dinosaurs than get one.

I think the transition to the 07 body style will be less dramatic as the shift from 99-00 to 2002. I don't think the 2002-2006s will look dated by any means. But as always just My Humble Opinion.

If you like the looks of the present Escalade then just don't worry what the new ones will look like, I like the present Escalade looks, front end wise, and we only hope the new one looks at least that good. :)

I've hated the H2 since day 1. The H2 is NOT a Hummer. It's a Tahoe. GM continues to piss me off with using old popular names to sell new crappy cars (ie. Malibu... the original was a Chevelle of which I own, the new is a competitor to an Escort. WTF? :mad2: ). No offense to the H2 lovers out there. Just my opinion.

Stick with the Escalade. If you're afraid it going out of style when the '07 comes out, wait. If you like the current, get it. I just got my '02 EXT and love it.

Look worse, that's funny. Some people like the looks, some people don't, I guess that why there is more than one type of car. ;) I am sure the new Escalade's will be even nicer than the present one, it just may take some getting used to.

I would have to agree with you here. I don't think that this shift is going to be as drastic either. I fell in love with the 02 Escalade from the second I saw it. I was 15. Now I'm a little older and have some money to throw around and would finally like to own one. Since I'm only 19 an 07 is out of the question. I think all is well though. :yup:

I'd have to say beginning. If anything I expect the EXT to be delayed, b/c I haven't heard a thing about the Avalanche/EXT redesign.
The regular wheelbase Escalade will be first, followed by the longer ESV and the truck EXT a few months later. Espect the Tahoe, Yukon, and Escalade to start hitting lots in January '06.

Does anyone anticipate a large depreciation in value of the 02-06 Escalades when the 07's come out? This has been killing me ever since I found out Caddy redesigned the 07'. Pretty soon, every Joe on the street is going to be able to afford the prestigious Escalade because of the price drop.

I dont see the prices dropping much for the 02-06. I think it will be seen as just another year older, and the regular depreciation that comes from that.

Its people like that who are bringing the prices down on Escalades. 28 g's for a 2002 with only 11,000 miles on it is way too low. They even say it themselves, KBB price $38,500. Thats too bad... :bigroll:

I would just like to bring this back for some further discussion and more opinions. Anyone like to add?
