I don’t think it’s based on warranty, My selling dealer provides lifetime free oil changes. Probably as an incentive to purchase from them and to provide them ongoing opportunities to sell me cabin air filters. When traveling out of town during warranty period on 2 occasions I had to pay for the oil change, at 2 different Caddy dealerships.

It’s my understanding that free oil changes are not provided for by the Cadillac warranty. If we do have free oil changes then that is a courtesy or benefit given by the selling dealer. When my oil was changed out of town I paid for it because it was not serviced at the dealership where I bought my car.
