OK peeps... I just got my 2nd FREE oil change and had sample pulled to send to Blackstone Labs. I was at 21% according to Onstar/Dealer. I am having a full panel of tests run including TAN (Total Acid Number) & TBN (Total Base Number). TAN shows how acidic your oil is and TBN shows what is left of the additive package (Oil Life - 21%?).

As a side note... I got 2015 ATS 2.0T as a loaner. It was a clone of my car except the color.
1. I will keep my 2014 as my butt dyno said it was a dud.
It felt like it was de-tuned.
87 octane versus 93 octane?
2. The radio didn't display the song title or artist like my 14... Menu option?
3. Didn't like the new grill.
4. I also didn't like the Cadillac badges without the wreath. Some how it looked like a Chevrolet or Buick badge.
5. Lastly the steering felt heavy. I ran it in Tour and Sport mode.
6. It did have lock/unlock buttons on the door handles which I like.

Are you having them put a full synthetic in there or Dexos? How many miles covered?
It would be interesting to see the results for Dexos vs. a full synthetic.
Last oil analysis I had done (not ATS), I had Mobil 1 in the vehicle for full year, 7k miles and the numbers came back fine,
in fact the lab said I should consider extending the oil changes by another 2k miles. But I’m sure my low mileage is not typical.

Also looking forward to the results. I just dropped off my 14 2.0T for its first oil change. 31% monitor and just around 5000 miles. I run Mobil 1 in my LS3 and change it at every 4k miles and fellow LSx owners have done analysis and says that the oil is still great at that time.

Also having them fix the package tray speaker rattle.

Dealer gave me a loaded 15 SRX V6. This has all the bells and whistles, I like it very much so far, will commute it to work on Monday and then I will have a better feeling on it.

Didn't realize that Dextros wasn't pure synthetic. How does it differ from Mobil 1?

Being retired, I'm not a high mileage guy (less than 5K/yr) , so with my 2002 325i (traded for '13 ATS Lux) and 2005 Z4 I changed my oil (and filter) annually with Mobil 1. And, as far as I can tell (no analysis), the 325 at 65K miles and the Z4 at 40K miles, have always been running perfectly with no indications of oil related problems.

Just another way for GM to wrangle you to buy their products. As long as it is free I will use it. But, once I start paying for it I will change to a full synthetic. Is there that much difference? No I have had dang every kind oil I have used in my 8.1 engine in my RV analysed. All performed well. I even had Wal Mart oil tested in a Honda CRV with over 100,00 miles on it and it was good. You just had to change a bit more often.

The bottom line is how long will the additive package last?

I recently purchased a 2013 Cadillac ATS 3.6L Premium with 2196 miles on it. Original owner was an older man who purchased it in December 2013 and passed away in October 2014. He didn't drive it often thus no oil change nor service nor recalls were completed. I couldn't get into the dealer for a few weeks after purchase so I chose to change the oil myself as I didn't want to drive it around with the initial oil from the factory. I swapped the filter out with a stock AC Delco/GM (PF2130) filter andswitched to Mobile 1 Dexos Synthetic (5W30). I guess I'm wondering, am I OK?

OK I finally got my analysis back.... USPS First Class shipping is sloooooow, like 2 weeks. Next time priority mail, 2 days.

The results overall are pretty much what I expected for 10,000 miles and only the 2nd oil change. The TBN was pretty much spot on with the OLM. BSL uses a 8 for 100% TBN and mine came at 1.7 (2=25%). The TAN was a bit high but not really out of the ball park.
