PDR AUDIO QUESTION --- ??

I have "audio on" selected on my PDR CUE settings, however the video files are all audio-less. I have a '17 with a July 2016 build date. It was a GM Show Car, so maybe some funny things happened...

I was told that the audio is turned off after a certain year due to privacy laws potentially being broken with recording conversations.

I had the same question when I placed my system in valet mode during maintenance and had no sound.
I was informed about the issue then.

I have a ‘16 A8 for almost a year. I never could figure out how to work/activate my PDR. When I select the icon from the screen, it turns black. Can anyone assist? Is there some other button/s that I need to press in order to “activate” it or to make it come on?

Is there anything over the camera lens?
The camera is right behind/below the rear view mirror.
Make sure it’s there and unobstructed.
If that doesn’t solve the issue, it may be a software issue that’ll need troubleshooting further.

Can someone post a video of how the PDR screen looks like? And how select different modes..etc.(g-force and 1/4mile times.

I just got my car back from the dealership and my PDR is fixed. I’m not sure how to use it yet, I just drove straight home.
So come to find out, after the dealership did a “software update”, remove the CUE, “cartridge”, and passenger floor carpet; there was a connector that was “unplugged”. From my previous post, my car’s PDR has never worked, nor have I removed the passenger side carpet, the dealership tried to charge me $209. There was a $636 charge for labor, but that was covered under the CPO warranty. I went there not wanting to pay the $209 either, since it was a Certified Pre-Owned car; they should’ve caught this issue before putting it on the show room floor. So I talked to a Used Car Manager, which didn’t want to admit that I shouldn’t be charged, I went straight to the Assistant GM and he was a really nice guy. I went into his office and spoke to him about all the issues that I had since I’ve had my car which included the transmission, the heads up display, and the PDR. He looked up in the system my original paperwork from the car being built as far as what options came with the vehicle, and he noticed that the car did come with it the PDR and asked me if it’s ever worked since I’ve had it, and I replied no. So he went to the service advisor and asked why am I being charged the amount that they’re trying to charge me and the service advisor explain to him what the charges were and that the diagnostics fee was because they had to remove the carpet in order to find a disconnected connector which she admitted would be hard to do if you don’t know where to look. So assistant GM said for me to follow him And we went inside to the cashier counter. He pulled my paperwork and went over the charges and then at the bottom of the paperwork he wrote in “PAID”. And that was on my copy of the paperwork on the paperwork for the dealership, he wrote 50% parts, 50% sales. So he stated that parts and sales department will both pay 50% of my bill.

so now this is the first time I’m actually viewing the PDR in my car so I’m trying to figure out how it works and what the screens are supposed to look like. So if someone can please post a video of them going through the different settings and options and screens on the PDR I would appreciate it.

here is the dealerships breakdown of the charges(from my advisor, who is awesome and was just doing her job):

“Okay we did the update and had to do several circuit testings including removal of the cue screen, and cartridge and pass floor carpet to gain access to the connector that was unplugged so now we have $636.00 in labor including the $50.00 ded for the programming finding this. I am going to get with my shop foreman to see what we can do since it was bought over a year ago but more then likely he is going to charge the $159.00 diagnosis fee but the $50.00 for the programming since our tech did get hours approved for further diagnosis.”

I just tried to upload a video but the file size is too big according to the site pop up error I receive.

You basically choose the overlay of info displayed on the screen.
