i have a 2000 deville dts and have had a 443 (Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit Malfunction )
code for a couple months. i went to murrays auto parts and bought a pcv valve and replaced it. i plugged in my scanner and reset to deactivate the service soon light.

drove it for a couple miles and parked it. restarted after a few minutes and the light returned with the 443 code again.

what else should i try? thanks.

EVAP & EGR are two totaly different animals. I am not sure where the EVAP purge control valve is mounted on the 2000. I'd have to look at mine. It should have an electrical plug and at least 2 vacuum lines I think.

The purge solenoid should be located under the engine cover, mounted on the back side of the throttle passage area. I think it has a bright red electrical connector and a single nylon line going to it.
Make sure it is plugged in and the wires are not damaged.
The PCV system will have nothing to do with this code.
