Hi all, I have been a member here for a while, but this is my first official post. I have a '97 Seville and a few problems. I am getting a check engine light with the codes P0139, P1133, and P1139. I found out that these pertain to two O2 sensors, Bank 1 Sensor 1 and Bank 1 Sensor 2. I think that these are the pre and post cat sensors. Am I correct in this assumption? I would like to replace them as gas mileage is not where it should be and I have a moderately rough idle at start.

My second question deals with a ping in what I believe to be my transmission. It is not very loud and only noticeable below 2k RPM. The noise is coming from the general area of the transmission bell housing. I had a transmission guy tell me it could be my "one-way clutch bearing?" I bought a used transmission to swap out and after the job was complete, the problem came back after a day. The odds are heavily against another bad transmission. Are there any components known for making this ping in the general area of the bell housing?

I am in debt quite a bit for this car and can no longer afford big repair bills. Thanks in advance.

Bank 1 Sensor 1 = Right Bank (rear) manifold
Bank 1 Sensor 2 = Pre-Cat
Bank 1 Sensor 3 = Aft-Cat
Bank 2 Sensor 1 = Left Bank (front) manifold

Not sure about the pinging but I recall some mention of a flex plate where the trans mounts to the engine. Yours may be cracked. I seem to recall it being said that can happen if it is not aligned properly during installation. You may need to pull the trans again. See if someone more knowledgable chimes in.

Thanks Ranger. That helps a lot. I have heard of the flex plate getting in the way and making that tick. That's kind of what it sounds like too. It's not loud, but persistant, and doesnt affect the car at all with the exception of the noise. I have been taking the car to a local mechanic with not a lot of Cadillac experience. They are friendly and fair, but not experts on diagnosing such complex machines as my baby. I plan on running it to a transmission specialist tomorrow.
