Non-Cadillac cars you've owned and LOVED!

This is a Cadillac forum, so obviously, we spend a lot of time discussing the Cadillacs we love or have loved. I've owned one Cadillac, which is my current car. However, I've had some other winners and losers over time. I thought it would be fun to entertain each other with some of our non-Caddy cars we have owned and loved over the years. Note: this in no way indicates that anyone posting thinks that this other car was better or nicer, unless they say so, and then you can feel free to boo and hiss accordingly. This is just other cars you dig or... digged? dug? dugged?

For me, my 1993 Roadmaster has been a great car. Bought it 6 years ago this month. Looks rough and leaks many things, but we've been served well by it. It's got 240,000 on the clock and still runs good. I paid $1800 for it and have invested very little since then - brakes, rear shocks, radiator, battery, brakes, starter.

Also owned a 1993 Lincoln Town Car. The car seemed bulletproof. It was surprisingly fun to drive, rode great (smoothest ride in any car I have owned), got okay gas mileage, and looked okay for it's age. My wife had an accident in it and it died. Again, I paid $1800 for it and drove it three years, only having to replace the rear brakes, do a tune-up, and had a couple rusted brake lines replaced.

1993 Dodge D250. Great truck, ran good, ice cold air, looked like it rolled down a mountain but never failed to start. Should have kept it.

I owned about 24 other cars over the years, good and bad, but I want to hear other people's stories now!

66 Riviera with the 425 nailhead. A beautiful car with, IMO, one of the best exhaust notes of any American engine.

My g5gt, My b.f's 500+ rwd Camaro love that car even though it makes my clothes smell like gas.
Same with when I used to take his race car through inspection when he had it registered, watching the workers choke breathing in the race fuel as they tried to put the sticker on the front lexan glass. lol
Let's see... Here's my list from the past ten years. I had about a million cars before this:

2000 Audi S4 (3000lbs, 600 horsepower) - Manual, fun car, fast as hell - but very high maintenance.
2005 Lexus LS430 - It was quick for it's time. A little boring - but flawless. No maintenance. Extremely luxurious and comfortable.
2007 BMW 750Li - Big, luxurious, major head turner, but a little on the slow side.
2007 BMW 335i (highly modified) - Fun car, fast but a bit of high maintenance.
2008 Lexus LS460L - Slow, boring but zero maintenance and very comfortable.
2012 Lexus LS460L - Same as above.
2010 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG (770hp 93 octane, 900hp race gas) - Extremely fast, luxurious, people take pictures and videos while you're driving it. :p
2010 Lexus RX350 - Boring as all hell but zero maintenance. Very comfortable.
2013 Lexus RX350 - Same as above - but with a less boring design. Very comfortable.
2014 BMW X5 - Comfortable, lots of high tech features, but the turbo V6 sucks gas like there's no tomorrow.

My '93 Suburban. It's indestructible, comfortable and gets things done!
I can haul 4x8 sheet material and close the doors. I can haul my 26' sailboat anywhere.
Best of the bunch -

1949 Mercury flathead - chopped, channeled, leaded, frenched, cat's eyes, 3/4 engine.
1955 Austin Healey 100s
1957 Jaguar XK140MC
1964 Corvair Spyder (turbo air-cooled flat 6)
1965 Chevelle Malibu SS 327/350
1967 Mercury Cougar 289 HiPo
1983 Mustang GT
1985 Mustang GT
1992 Taurus LX 3.8 (believe it or not - good car)
1995 Ford F-150 I-6 5-speed
2004 Ford F-150 4.6 OHC 4x4

The absolute WORST:
1972 Volvo 145E wagon. 4 cylinder 4 speed mechanical nightmare that never got over 15 mpg from brand new.
1980 Ford 265 (???) V-8 auto Mustang. Slow mechanical disaster of a slug.

I had a 400ci '68 Firebird ragtop. Wish I never sold it :(
Also had '65 GTO 4spd tri-power ragtop. as he kicks himself in the a$$
'95 Tahoe. Roomy, comfortable, great visibility you can't get in a car, decent on gas. It was pristine when I gave it my father-in-law in '05. Brother-in-law totaled it 3 months later.

It's in my name.
1992 Taurus LX 3.8 (believe it or not - good car)
Not terribly surprising, we had a 1993 Sable. It was quirky and it felt like it had a slight miss for years, overheated again and again over the summer months, but it never failed us. I think we drove it three years and invested in a fuel filter, and air filter, and front brakes. I also had a 1987 Taurus wagon years ago (3.0 I think) that had just had the tranny rebuilt. Also quirky, but good car.

Dude, I love this list! Definitely feeling some automotive jealousy!
1986 Volvo 240D ...$75.00. Hot heater, ample everything, great handling, 4 speed, good gas milage, too ugly to steal and when a kid in a chevy pulled out in front of me and my Mom was in the front passenger seat and was not even shaken up in the collision, I think it's my favorite car I ever had.
My current Chevy Spark is the first non-Cadillac I've owned. I'm content with it.
My SHO was also a '92...
Probably my all time favorite was a 1971 Buick Riviera boat tail. 455ci rochester 4 bbl. about 4900 lbs and terrible mileage. Wish i still had it
A string of Jaguars, a Citroen 2CV (still got it stashed away waiting for an engine & a chassis) a few cars I doubt you guys would even have heard of, even after 15 months of running a Cadillac I still like to get into my Cherokee & drive just for fun - oh & on Saturday I got the last rolling remains of one of the last Citroen C15 vans made, the 20-odd mile drive home sold me on it completely: it's just so good to step back from all the (often) needless complexities of modern cars!
