Last few days, my 85 Deville's "No Charge" light is coming on when the engine is off and the key is out of the ignition. Start the car, light goes off. First time this happened, next day had to replace battery. New battery and the light still comes on. Any ideas?

i had the same problem with my 85 once. if i remember right it was a bad alt.

A shorted Diode in the Alternator will cause this. Only other thing it could be is a failed ignition switch but this would also cause other problems.
