I recently purchased a nearly mint condition 2000 DeVille DHS and from what I understand I am one of many with a defective night vision camera caused by a cracked front glass. It appears the internal camera damage may not be repairable. Does anyone know a less expensive way out of this situation than the full ridiculous purchase price of a new camera through GM? I plan to install a protective lexan front cover if and when I replace the camera.

Sorry to hear of your woes; indeed, that's an expensive unit to replace. You might try ebay or GMpartsdirect.com for a price break.
