My '03 sport has been great but with only 90,000km, I'm starting to get nickle-and-dimed.
Recently I had the engine light come on which the dealer has diagnosed as a faulty thermostat. This seems to be a fairly common 03 CTS issue and requires a fairly hefty charge primarily for the labor. (Obviously, something that must be fixed to avoid major potential damage.)
The drivers heated seat has failed, I'm assuming an "element" failure as it doesn't seem to be any of the fuses.
The radio reception has gone bad. As it is on both AM and FM, I assume it's not an antenae issue? Furthermore, the CD player has now jammed giving me a "mechanical" failure prompt. As a result I'm guessing that I need the entire unit replaced by the dealer?
Also a Service Stabilitrack prompt comes up randomly?

Aside from losing a tie rod last year shortly after exiting the highway, it's been a pretty good car. Currently just wondering if anyone has any words of wisdom (other than vaseline related comments) prior to handing it over to the dealer? (ie Is it an option to go with a newer radio/CD stack which has an IPod connection? Is there something else they should replace when doing the thermostat? etc...)
Thx in advance...

Service stability system is steering position sensor.
GM wants 190 for the sensor..I heard u can find them
Online for under 100..got mine and its ready to go in
Cd player...find a used 1 or search for the self
Repair disassembly..its on here somewhere.
Thermostat should be 5hrs labor..$27 part
And the heated seat...well I haven't tried to fix mine yet.
Its my summer car so it doesn't really bother me.

I have the P0128 (thermostat) check engine light coming on during the winter driving for over 2 years now and i just had a jammed CD in the unit happen last week. There is a tread on how to take apart your CD changer to clear jammed CD and the thermostat problem could just be a sensor issue. The point im trying to make is that there is no real need to panic as you can try solving these problems yourself with help of this forum and its members. Good luck!

How neccessary would you say this is as it only has 90000km (about 55000miles)? Also, any thoughts on how much the plugs might cost?
thx
