New to this Forum and I would appreciate any help. I just installed the factory cooler, complete harness, and switch but the switch does not light up, and the cooler does not seem to be getting any power. I rechecked all connections and don't see a specific fuse location in the manual to know if its just a missing fuse. I know others have successfully installed these things, hopefully I just overlooked something simple. Thanks.

The vehicle has to be running for it to work. Goes off when the engine is off. It keeps items cold, it does not cool items from a warm condition.

Thank you for the response, of course the engine must be running, it would only be powered when car was on. And I also realize it is more of a gimmick than an actual refrigerator. My question was more directed to someone who may have added this option to their vehicle and had the same issue I had with no power to the unit or switch after installing.

I have a 2020 Platinum, it has the cooler, never used it except for storage of breath mints or wallet. I see it as a waste.

We've had the cooler in a 2016 Platinum and a 2019 Platinum. Basically worthless. The storage space would be more useful.

Agree. I just use mine for storage. It's useless.
In my 2021 Escalade, though, it's a whole new ballgame. It gets freezing in there.
Cadillac finally upped their refrigeration game!

Update 11/8/21
Just finished uninstalling the cooler, harness, and switch in my 2018 Luxury Escalade. Turns out there are 5 or 6 wires missing between my dash harness and the factory cooler harness. Not to mention I had to modify at least one plug, and would have to cut out part of the console framework to make room for the plug on the key fob re-sync. I’m sure someone with more smarts and a wiring diagram could have made this work. Guessing the dash harness connector in the Premium and Platinum models has all the missing wires.😡

We’re able to get it to work? I just installed in my 2015. All plugs lined up but one. It was for the light switch for the storage console. Also, cigarette plug doesn’t work. Appreciate any feedback
