I just joined this forum and I can see that it is a top tier site. I rather expected that given the Cadillac reputation. I own 2 Corvettes, a 2000 Fixed Roof Coupe (track duty only). A 2011 Grand Sport, a 2003 Silverado, and a 2012 Yukon. So you can see, our "stable" has several horses. A friend of mine had a CTS-v that he regularly tracks, and it smote me when he gave me a ride around VIR at speed. So I'm in the process of looking for one to add to the stable. Any advice on what to look for and what to avoid would be helpful. I am very familiar with the LS engine platform and GM cars in general. My target CTS-V is a 2005-2007, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm a regular on the Corvette Forum with the same forum name as here.

Thanks, in advance

Thanks. Intended use is street/trips and a car to piddle with. I'm not much of a waxer, but I do take care of my stuff, so I like them to look good. I probably won't take it to the track, the C5 has its own trailer and set up for it. But you never know, we might have a one-day track day where I'll give it a go. i do have a question, is there an aftermarket dual mode exhaust like I have on my GS? There is nothing like the sound of the LS engine!!!!

I've looked at 2 so far, I was old enough to be called grandpa by one of the owners. Too many mods on that one, and not to my taste. The other is up there on miles, though I couldn't tell it had miles. Not like looking at late model Corvettes. There are lots of garage queen Corvettes out there owned by old men.

You know, growing old is mandatory, but growing up is entirely optional.
