Hey STS Lovers...

I just bought the DTS "All Chrome" wheels pictured below.
I plan to put 255/50/17's on these wheels, I've seen a few
folks do it here... STS oughta look HOTT with those wheels/tires.

My STS came with the Tire Pressure Monitoring system. I think they
are just modules hooked up to the valve right? Are they transferable
to the new Wheels??? They are wireless transmitters right? Is there
a means/method for fastening??? Just want to know, because I'm not
going to have the dealer bang me for $200 to put these things on!

Look forward to hearing from yez!

If the DTS wheels came off a model / year with TPM, your transmitters should fit in the valve hole just fine (I believe the TPM valve outside diameter is larger than a regular rubber valve diameter?).

The TPM valve and transmitter is one piece and held in place with a nut torqued to 35 lbs in. Be sure to use new grommets if you can find them. And try to locate a tire shop that has mounted tires with a TPM valve at least once before you let them learn on your wheels.

Thanks JimD... I'm off to my Tire Guy! He's the best in town and has several High End Mercedes... So I think he may know what to do... But much Thx on the Torque info on the nut... These DTS Wheels are Brand New Factory OEM Wheels, so my Valve from my STS ought to fit the slot fine!!

Hey Mack, FOR SURE I'll Be posting Pics of these wheels bro!!!

I have that wheel and tire combo on my 2000 STS. It looks awesome! I have BFGoodrich KDWS Z-rated tires, and they handle great, and ride smooth.

UPDATE:

Guys, spoke to many folks and basically decided to NOT BOTHER with the TPM!
Haven't even had a message come up! I guess since there is not module looking to communicate.

NOW FOR THE LOOK AND RIDE!!!!

Yeah... Caddy Daddy... Car looks HOTT!!
Got the work done Friday, not long after my post...
I'll be posting pictures probably Monday!
I bought Hankook Ventus ST RH06 255/50/17's. I absolutely love this tire,
had it on my Mark VIII too. Super cool AS Ultra High Perf tire.
Car rides like its on rails and handles much better!
Hey man... You were supposed to post pics of yours too... !!!

Mine were $550 on eBay. They are used 2003 DTS, but I can't tell the difference from new, other than the price!

I keep a guy on my ebay fav book. Name is Cardio-doc. He has those rims brand new for $1200.. Eventually I was going to get those wrapped with vogues... He also gives the option for different style center caps. He seems to have pretty good prices on vogues.. $810 mounted.

Yes $1200's a bit much for me... Ive just been watching his auction and ive never seen them sell.. But they keep going back in auction at $1200.. Maybe he'd offer me a price cut if I take the vogues and special center caps?

Hey guys~

Thanks for the plug, and the nice words. I've been liquidating those wheels for a Cadillac supplier for a long time now. Sometimes they sell, sometimes they don't. Goes in spurts - will sell 3 sets in a week then nothing for 3 weeks. Once they sell, I relist them.

Check my listings another set in the same style that while used is really excellent.

Trust my feedback,

~Doc
