Scored a set for $225. Switching to kooks from Chinese pace setter clones, which are excellent quality btw.

I'm switching for the additional ground clearance that the kooks has. I need 3/8" to clear the speed bumps here in Abu Dhabi.

I've rearranged everything, clocked my flanges etc from Frankenstein crazy to gmpp catback now.

I'm installing them hopefully next week and hitting the Dyno at long last to see what the new kooks, heads, cam etc mods will actually do.

Anyway went from this, to media blasted to these sexy cerakote C7600 coated beauties you see in the pics.

My previous headers were cerakoted also, and for 2 years have held up perfect. I use wrap combined with the coating. Do I need to? No. Do I choose to out of paranoia? Yes.

Waiting 2 more days to full cure and wrap. My cats, kooks also, get picked up Saturday.

Came out perfect. And good to 2,000F plus dei titanium wrap on top of the coating as a back up fail safe.

My existing headers can be grabbed, engine running and you won't loose skin. What, if any performance aspects of the coating are unknown to me. I like it, and how my previous set has aged so I will continue to do the same in the future.

Which series of Cerakote did you go with?

The C7600? Or a different series?

Can you add some pics to the thread?

Planning on wrapping them also, or just the coating? If this doesn't give me the ground clearance I am seeking, I may be replicating your header set-up.

I pick up my cats this evening and my friends boat exhaust manifold also.

Looks good!

I'm happy to report that after installing, I found the much sought after ground clearance I was looking for.

I gained just over 1/2" ground clearance. I needed 3/8" exactly to clear 95% of the speed bumps here at 14.3" ride height, which is max for the KW Var 3.

FYI the Cerakote smoked off my kooks cats, and is no longer present. This may be an indication of how efficiently the kooks move heat, or how hot the metal kooks cats run, but my last set I coated are still good, and these ones didn't hold up. This seems to indicate how hot they get.

The remainder of the headers are picture perfect, even after reinstalling to fix a small exhaust leak.

Here is a quick sound clip, you can hear the small pinhole leak in this clip if you listen.
