Welcome to the Forums!
Nah, these things do not ride like the old Caddies. My early '70's Devilles and Eldo rode like ACV's. Hell, you could hit an open manhole and you'd never know it except for the thump thump.I guess my only real issue, is that the ride seems to be a bit harsher than I remember on my other caddy's. It could be the tires, I do seem to get a lot of road noise.
=======================Hi all, new member, just purchased a 2001 El Dorado. I really don't have any real issues, but want to be ahead of the game when I do. I paid $1100. for it and drove it 90 miles home, so that was a real good test drive. My Caddy love affair started when I was very young, not very young any more. Formerly owned, 57 Coupe Deville, 68 Deville Convert.,78 Coupe Deville, 75 Eldorado, 92 Sedan Deville . I guess my only real issue, is that the ride seems to be a bit harsher than I remember on my other caddy's. It could be the tires, I do seem to get a lot of road noise. Anyway, glad to be a part of this forum, don't know if I can lend any information, but I may ask a lot of pesky questions. I will try and post some pics if I can figure out how, unless you have seen enough of these tanks.
welcome. i have reaped the benefits from the guys on this forum already and been on maybe a couple of year. im in an 85 eldo biarritz convertible and love it because it still rides like the caddys i remember growing up. i had a 98 sts and an 06 cts in the past, although very nice in their own way , not a true "caddoo". agree about eldos... i rarely see any and when i do i have to stop / slow down to check it out. they are refreshing to look at in this current sea of monotonous sedans trolling our roads generated by "sign and drive" deals. We are a rare breed, Eldorado owners and their cars.
Not a bunch of us out there compared to say common old Mustang owners.
Our Eldorado's have been out of production for 13 years and attrition has eaten up a significant number of them.
Welcome aboard and enjoy the ride.
