New to Cadillac with a 2013 XTS

Hello all,

New to the Caddy family. I just purchased a 2013 XTS Premium (Crystal Red tintcoat) with 90k miles.

I came from a 2012 Volvo S60 T5. I went into the dealership looking for something with a better driving experience. The dealer showed me the XTS and I was surprised. I had never looked at Cadillac before (Im in my mid 30s) as they just never appealed to me but the XTS was intriguing. The interior was one of the nicest I've ever seen in a GM product and the technology is what really got me.

The car is a bit underpowered (Or should I say the powerband could be adjusted for more low end power.) but it drives really well for what it is.

Is there anything I should watch out for with these cars? I havent owned a GM product since I was 16 so it's been awhile.

Thanks!

See the XTS section for more details, but you are in a great position when it comes to "things to watch for". The XTS is about as problem-free as (current) premium cars get. You will have to deal with a dead CUE screen at some point, and likely a strut or two. You might have to replace the air-ride compressor. Other than that it's the standard 4000lb premium luxury car stuff - weird tire wear, wheel damage and balancing, hubs, warped rotors, and the occasional electrical glitch that you fix by letting the car sit overnight.

So drive and enjoy!

Thanks for the reply! Prior to the Volvo I had a 08 Mazda Miata and 01 Honda s2000 so the 4000lb Luxury car thing is new to me. Lol
I suppose I meant 18. My first car was an 89 Chevy Beretta when I was 15. Over the next three years I also owned a teal 92 Grand Am SE sedan, red 95 Grand Am SE coupe, green 96 Grand Am SE coupe and a white 95 Grand Am GT sedan.

The Beretta was a hand me down that blew a headgasket shortly after I got it. The 92 and 95 couple were totalled when people pulled out in front of it. I traded the 95GT in for a brand new 05 Mazda 6s 5spd when I was 18.

We had a lot of Mazdas growing up, and I somehow fell in love with Grand Ams. Shrug They are also the reason why I've never really looked at a GM product since but here we are.
