hello!

1-5-6-3-4-2-7-8 Passenger side is the odd-numbered cylinders. So number one cylinder is the one closest to the front on the passenger side, and then 3-5-7 on that cylinderbank.

Cylinder numbering is by cylinder arrangement. The right front cylinder is number one, and the left front is number two. Cylinders on the right bank have odd numbers (1, 3, 5, and 7) and those on the left bank have even numbers (2, 4, 6, and 8).
The firing order is 1-5-6-3-4-2-7-8.
Quoted verbatim from the 1972 Shop Manual, which is a very worthwhile investment that I highly suggest you pick up on ebay for your year vehicle. It's the best purchase I have made for my Coupe Deville.
