Hi forum, this is my first post.
I had been considering a new car for about a year. After looking around,we felt that the base model SRX was an outstanding luxury crossover value. My wife has wanted a Cadillac for a while. We test drove the CTS and the SRX.We found them to be very close in ride, but just loved the style of the SRX.At the dealer they had a Black Raven/Ebony model on the showroom floor. It was just bad ass looking and it seduced us.We bought it.We love it.Especially considering the fact that it is replacing my wife's car which was a Honda Civic.Talk about a night and day difference! I put the OEM mud flaps on and they are perfect. They fit and match perfectly. I have been checking out the forum since we bought our SRX (end of March) and appreciate everyone's comments.Good luck to all SRX owners, talk to you soon. Chris

Best wishes to you. Wow..from a Honda Civic! Yes,the Base model is a good value and many easy/inexpensive upgrades are spoken of on this Forum. (Wood dash/doors kit just recently!) The 2011 has Onstar 9.0 and you can download a free app to almost any Smart phone and then remote start/lock-unlock etc from almost anywhere in world. The free maintenance for 4 years is quite a great deal also. Find a good Dealer and stay with him. It makes all the diff in the world.

See ya round.

unfortunately we just crossed the base model off our list..our 2006 base model has electric tailgate and backup sensors and that is not on the new one;;we will step up to a luxury edition now....or a Ford

Who ever heard of a car w/o a spare tire? This missing spare is a crazy notion by GM to save money. It wasn't until after I bought mine that I realized there was no spare. I consider this a BIG ripoff.

It's a crazy notion to save mass.
Traditionaly, most Cadillac owners would call Roadside service for a flat anyway.
You pay for Roadside in the price of the car, so why not use it.
But, that's probally a rip off also.

Hi Chris and welcome to the forum!

I know what you mean, I was seduced too... the view from the rear was just to much for me! I have the Black Raven with chrome-tech wheels and once I get done detailing her, she's definitely a stunner!

Don't worry about not having a spare tire, the onboard compressor and tire sealant will do just fine. In my almost 35 years of driving, I never got a flat that required anything more than air to get it to a repair facility.

Good luck with the new ride!

Chris.......congratulations on your new ride. Personally, black was and is my favorite color, despite the hassles. Let us know when your wife lets you drive it!! My wife....uh, never mind.

Hi Chris,

When I bought mine, I was not aware it did not have a spare..it was no biggie for me. I have never had a blow out in 44 years of driving, but IMHO the peace of mind is great! I mentioned the spare only to let you know they are available, should you want one. Also, I have a thread started about a re-program for your SRX that eliminates the turbo lag at casual acceleration, should you find that is happening to yours.
I hope you enjoy yours as much as we do ours!
