New owner to a 76 Coupe Deville, what books do I need?

I recently purchased a 76 Cadillac Coupe Deville. The car runs and drives. Has its typical older car issues and needs freshened up. The A/c also has issues where it only blows on the floor. I want to make sure I am purchasing the right books before i make any purchases. I want to be prepared for the now and for the future. Which books do I need? I shared one that i think i have seen lots of recommendations on. I want to make sure i am on the same page.

I hope all that makes sense. Thank you!

Welcome Aboard !!!! Naturally, all the manuals you want have been out of print for 40 years. Start with searches on eBay for service, transmission, electrical, owner's manuals. Post want ads in our Classic Cadillac Classifieds forums. Look into the Cadillac/LaSalle forum site. Probably no joy but try www.helminc.com for any info still in there - it's the original service and owners manuals site for many automakers.

I don't know the 76 specifically but when my 1979 Toronado lost the main vacuum the HVAC blew on the floor only. It could be a stuck mode door as well. The GM systems were normally designed to default to defrost but that was not the case with the Toronado.

If there was an electrical troubleshooting manual in 1976 I would add that to the list. If it happens to be an
EFI car also add the Cadillac EFI Troubleshooting blue and white book.
