Hi new here but just great site, have allready learned alot,I have a 95 Dville that I inherited with a broken antenna, I replaced it with a new oem antenna that they also provide an adapter with, and the reception is bad, went back to the store, replaced both antenna and adapter again, still bad reception. Is there any fix for this? Are these antennas just bad? Thanks George

Welcome aboard,
I must admit, I've always felt the OEM antennas worked very good. They all get poor AM reception but the FM is usually quite good. Are you sure it's not a tuner issue? Or the antenna cable maybe.

mine had bad reception too. It had a CD changer in it and when they installed it, instead of usuing adaptors they just cut the freaking antena wire and twisted the copper in the middle of the wires together. The reception sucked.

when installed my new stereo the receptoon was MUCH better and it tired to replace the antena wire that was cut... but Cadilla uses a special wire to attach to the antena that you can only get from them.. so its still rigged cheap but i have grate reception now.

What Stereo is in your car? Is it Factory Delco? Most cheaper aftermarket decks have weak tuners >

I just took my Panasonic 600 out of my Astro and installed a stock Delco deck from a Camaro in it> worked out real well, I like Delco decks, they have plenty of Power > When it comes to electronics anything is possible, somtimes you have to go through the process of Elimination to find the problem.
