I am looking at a used Deville at a dealer. He has had a new cloth top (fake convertible) installed. Is there an issue with having an after market top installed? Chrome molding seems to be held on with screws, I just question if this could be a point for future rust?
:stirpot: IMHO, based on a lotta years of car ownership, faux convertible and vinyl tops can be a real headache in the maintenance and rust department. ONE leak, and water stays under the fabric/vinyl and eats your roof. I spent a fortune on a '67 Cougar 289 HiPo after the black vinyl overlay allowed SC salt rain to eat the metal underneath........
