Cadillac 5-7-15.jpg

Circumstances led me to do some car shopping. Not that it takes much for me to do that. Found a beautiful 2012 CTS Premium Edition Coupe with 8600 miles on it and couldn't resist. So her I am. This is my second CTS Coupe. The economy forced me to sell the first one. As a very longtime Mustang guy this is new, but enjoyable, territory. Love the car so far, except for not being able to get my golf clubs to fit in the truck so well. My 2007 Shelby GT has more trunk space! The 18" wheels look small to me so I'm shopping for a set of staggered 19 inch CTS-V models. They seem to be difficult to come by, but I'm a patient sort. I am very happy to have found my way to this forum. Have already learned a lot just by lurking around the threads. You guys are good!

You can get brand new factory wheels for about $350 each online. But I don't know what you were looking to spend

Welcome to the forum. That's a beautiful car you have.

But for the same 350.00/each you can get better looking wheels than factory caddy wheels. I have these on my coupe.

Might be better looking to you. But to me those rims just ruined the car.

Thanks for the welcome. Of course wheels (like cars) are a matter of taste. I've looked at a ton of wheels on the Internet and don't see any that I like better than the CTS-V factory units. Second choice at the moment is the TSW Nurburgring. I have no problem spending $1400 for a set as long as they're polished. I "de-badged" the trunk lid yesterday ("CTS" and "3.6" badges) and like the cleaner look a lot. Does anyone know if the wreath around the Cadillac shield can be removed the same way? I like the shield but could do without the wreath. Thanks again.

That is low mileage for a 2012! I golf as well but haven't golfed since I got my coupe. May have to fold the back seat down?

Jungy4, the low mileage was a major factor in the decision to buy the car. We bought it from a Caddy dealer in the Santa Monica/Beverly Hills part of LA. The salesman said they get a lot of very low mileage cars back in trade. Mostly lease returns. The deal we made was well worth fighting the traffic from where we live in Orange County!
You might want to try putting your bag in the trunk of your coupe before you play next time. The only way I could was to take the driver out of the bag and squeeze it in diagonally. And I have a small carry bag, not a cart bag. When it's my turn to drive with my usual playing partner the back seat will have to come down. I should probably practice that!

Congrats, nice looking car, I just love my 14 Coupe. Mine came wit the performance package which included staggered 19 inch wheels. Not the same at the V-series wheels, so may be another factory option, but being a GM product will probably still be pricey, but maybe another option when searching for a replacement for 18s. Here's a pic of the wheels that came with my Coupe.

Lots of V owners have Nurburgrings.

I debadged my CTS Wagon, too, but not the wreath. I agree, it really cleans it up. I am undecided whether or not to do this on my V wagon.

Steve555 you've taught me something. All along I assumed the "V" wheels and those on the performance package were the same. Looks like I'm wrong again. Thanks!

I like those wheels on the car. Do they look better than stock? About the same for me. Would I spend $350 a piece for stock? probably not. So I would be taking the same route you did. I like custom anyway though.
To each his own. They are better looking than anything GM has come up with. But I guess the good thing is you don't have to look at and/or drive my car.

Kinda my point. Any car or motorcycle I have ever owned has been changed to some effect, some more, some less. My goal is to make it a little (or a lot) different from the others of the same model on the road. I only had the car for two weeks when I tinted the windows and bought a tire/wheel package. I knew before I signed on the dotted line that wheels were forthcoming.

Now motorcycles, I just turn them into complete show bikes. That's a story for another day........

Anyway, good luck to the OP as he shops for wheels. It really changes the whole personality of the car.

You'll have to fold down your 60/40 rear seats. it won't lay flat for awhile, until you wear in the cushions of the rear seats. I had brought my son a 42" sound bar system for Xmas, folding the seats down made life much easier. That was the first time I had to fold them down, it's very rare that I allow anyone to sit back there.

There are holes under the trunk shield but not the wreath BTW. I removed everything on my coupe. Look into a throttle module (Vitesse) it changed the
whole personality of the car... I was used to torque also. I have put over 20k miles on in 6-8 months, love it. Gene

GeneMpls, Thanks. I went ahead and removed the wreath and love the result. Posted a picture in the "Appearance Mods" thread under "Clean Trunk" if you're interested. Thanks also for the tip on the throttle body. That may well be an after warranty improvement.

Heck first thing I did was add the 3.6 badge to my 08. The 2008-09 with the LY7 don't get the badge. I liked it so I added it....

These are a bunch of beauties! Love the coupe but, I will have to wait till the kids grow up before I can have one of these? Guess my Platinum Esky will have to do for now?

LOL! But seriously, the CTS coupe beats absolutely any comparable vehicle on the market by miles and miles....BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Lexus, Infinity all of them are nothing but Blah!

CTS-V...gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous
