Hey everyone,
I purchased a 2010 CTS Wagon 3.0 last night. Its a black luxury model with 61k on the clock. I ordered a set of Michellin Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires as the original ones are in desperate need of replacement. Driving home in the snow storm we had in NJ last night was an experience.
At the moment, the only other upgrade I have planned is some window tint. Can you guys suggest some maintenance or upgrades that I should look into?

Thanks for the help

Other than the subwoofer that I finally got around to adding to the stereo system, I'm not really one to talk to about mods; however, my suggestion on maintenance is to do all the standard stuff to give you that peace-of-mind. Unless the seller is on record as doing all of it recently, I would change the oil/filter, air filter, cabin air filter, check your fluid levels (coolant, etc), run some fuel treatment in with your next fill-up, and be sure to get those new tires on there ASAP. As much as you are able, inspecting for damage/leaks is also a must -- may have missed something in your pre-purchase inspection. When the weather allows, wash, clay (the Mother's kit is gentle yet effective) and wax it to keep the paint in order. There seems to be plenty of info on this forum, as on the internet in general, so 'the basics' should not be a problem. Enjoy!

Change out the transmission fluid and maybe the rear diff, but that one may not really be necessary. Trans fluid I personally would do. They say good to 100k, so you can wait until it's warmer if you are a DIY'er.

Welcome to the Wagon Warriors. I loved mine so much I bought a Vagon to go along with my '10 standard CTS.

Welcome to the wagon club!

Where in South Jersey? I'm in Cherry Hill, and have had my '10 wagon since October 2011. It has just over 70k miles on it, and apart from two wheel bearings, has needed nothing but oil changes and a set of tires.

I was out in the snow too, and with the new A/S 3s it was fine, just enough RWD slippage to make it fun.

Im in Williamstown.

I have an oil filter, Mobil 1, K&N drop in & a cabin filter all ordered. All of that should go on this weekend. I am hoping that the tires are in on Friday. The trans & differential service will have to wait until spring. Its just too cold to do them now. What do most people here run for spark plugs?

People are all over the map, of course (everyone's got an opinion), but the OEM's serve us all well and should be strongly considered.

While looking for the RPO codes in the back of the car. I noticed the car doesnt have a spare tire. Was this an option or is my car just missing its spare?
If you have the upgraded sound system (Bose) then there's a subwoofer where the spare tire used to be, and you get an inflation kit instead of a spare tire.

I put a spare tire in my wheel well. I had to get rid of most of the styrofoam, but I left a little under the amp for insulation purposes. I also had to unplug (and reconnect) the connectors (one only) to get it all together in there. Be sure you have a jack of some sort.

I have a 2010 CTS AWD Wagon. It is now pushing 90K miles. Comfortable and reliable - I just wish I didn't have it in black raven. Right now the car is white from all the salt.
sliderule, take advantage of the situation. When mine gets this dirty, I go rob a bank and make sure they see it's a "white" Cadillac. Then right to the car wash and you're home free with a black car again. :highfive:
Seriously, it is disgusting how white the car gets with the salt. More snow this morning and temps about 20 below the normal average. Can't wait till this crap is gone.

After spending a week in the Cleveland, Buffalo, Rochester area on business, then the following week around Erie PA, and just got back from a business trip Philly, Saginaw, Detroit, Milwaukee, Cleveland and Philly, my car is almost completely white from all the damn salt. I have my oil change 3 weeks ago before these trips and it is down to 20%. I have a trip to FL next week where the weather will be in the 80s....I am looking forward to weather that isn't in the double digits below zero.
