Hello,

I've been lurking for a couple days and decided to finally register. I don't own a Cadillac (yet), but I'm thinking of getting rid of my Roadmaster and getting an Eldorado, early to mid 90's model (all I can afford). There seem to be a few low mileage cars still around. Most of the reviews I've read on these cars have been pretty positive. The negatives have me kind of apprehensive, as repairs don't seem to be for the faint of wallet. I can do a lot of my own repairs/maintenance, but I want to spend more time in my car than under it.

Anything in particular I should be wary of when looking at an Eldorado?

Thanks,
Brian King

:welcome: to the forums. Make sure you check coolant and ask when has it been changed. If more than 2 years ago then lower your offer. Also check for any stored codes in the DIC. If any codes are present(CURRENT) and are serious then lower your offer. Other than that, good luck and have fun with your Eldo when you find it. :D

Thanks, I'll do that. I've printed out instructions on how to retrieve the codes. Is changing coolant expensive on these cars? Or is it like any other GM of the same vintage.

I found a 94 Touring Coupe w/67k miles I might look at this weekend. A dealer has it and I doubt he'll know when the coolant was changed.

Thanks for the help,
Brian
