Hi all, I've been reading the forum for a little while and watching the web for a clean 1990-1992 Brougham. I picked this one one up in New Mexico 2 weeks ago and drove it back to Dallas. I love it! My daily driver is (was) a MB CL55, but it has been sitting in the driveway since I bought the Brougham. It is a D'Elegance white/blue velour with the 350 cid engine and 62,000 miles. The previous owner took exceptional care of the car and it was always garaged, which helped the preservation.

Johnny

Welcome, and very nice find. The d'Elegance packages are rare and finding one with a 350 and wire caps are both great pluses. Is it leather or cloth?

It has the cloth interior, which happened to be my preference, since there were no heated seats available. Most of the leather ones I've seen lately were starting to get the "cracked" look, due to age, I suppose.

Nice. I prefer leather. My '88 has the leather pincushion seats, very comfortable. Mine look like they are old, cracked and dried out but that is not so. I do Leatherique treatments every few months and the leather is softer than most new cars. The cracks will never go away but you don't feel them when you are sitting on the seats so I don't care.

Wow...what a great ride! How's it feel to go from a CLS55 AMG to this cruiser? :cool2:

Well, the CL55 has 493 horsepower and the Brougham...is it 175? So, there's no comparison on that front. Two totally different missions, obviously. I really enjoy the isolation that the Brougham delivers, whereas the CL55 is a much more involving car. When you want to go out and play, the MB is ready. But, after a tough day at work when you want to just get home, I'd rather drive the Caddy.
Plus, in my (second) career as an entertainer (Elvis Impersonator) I can fit the entire PA system and stage lighting in the trunk of the Brougham. Plue, Elvis and big Cadillacs just go together!!

Speaking of Summer, I just finished spending over $2,500 replacing almost every component of the air conditioning system. I left it R-12, new compressor, condensor, evaporator, dryer, etc...Hopefully, I'll be in good shape for thse hot Texas summers!
