This is a great site, just got my 07 CTS platnium , allstock no mods yet !!!

looking for some advice on a good radar detector !! i live in NY - Ct area , just got out of a Trail Blazer ... now when @ 90 MPH you dont feel like your moving!!!

will be looking for advice on New Grill also already did the tints !!!

You can get them through Tomm, he's a vendor here, and his site sells them cheaper. However, if you Private Message* him, he can give u a nice discount for being a forum member. The radar detector works GREAT! its always either been number 1 or 2 IN THE WORLD.

Valentine 1 is the best on the market, Ive owned the passport but nothing gives you the comfort of telling you where the bogey is coming from with the directional arrows that light up. Its pricey, but works and will save you in the end all

i'll post the link when i find it -- but different sources had tested out both and declared the 8500 superior to the V1.
as far as knowing the direction the radar is coming from, i thought, "well, if theres a police radar around, it doesnt matter what direction its coming from, i'm slowng down to the posted speed limit for the few seconds the radar is beeping"

Damn Kid, you sure get around this board..even know the radar vendors...But yes, I agree, Tomm is the man when it comes to radars, and yes I would recommend the Passport X-50 myself..Got one hard wired and munted right up next to the visor....

Welcome to the board...Radars still illegal in CT...When I lived in NY and would drive up to CT, I remember having to be careful with my radar since they were illegal in CT...ANyway, I'd go with the Passport
