New GTO?

I know this isn't a Cadillac but what do you all think about it? I like it but I think I'd rather wait until they are being traded in for newer cars before I'd buy one.

I'd have called it a Chevy Monza. The style doesn't fit in the Pontiac family, past or present.

I like the spec's (except the target price of the low 30,000's). But the HiPo Monaro's in Aus have much more aggressive front end's.

All they had to do was change the badge to a bowtie and call it a Monza. Sure, there is no real cache in that name for diehard bowtie fans. But it would be nice fix that issue this time around.

Thats a tough one to call. The GTO will be a a heavy, luxurious 2-dr performance car. But it's plain looking. The Monte Carlo was heavy and luxurious. But it always had style (well, at least until the FWD versions came).

The Nova could be a good choice, because it was plain looking. But it was also an entry level car (with performance available for those who cared).

Now that I think about it more, the Chevelle would be a very good name. Like the Monaro chassis, it was available in 2 and 4 dr versions (as well as wagons) and it was also the basis for the El Camino (called Ute in Oz). And the fast back style of the Monaro is very similar to the 69-71 versions of the Chevelle.

What ever they would or could call it, it doesn't excite me.
