Yup... Sold my wife's 04 Expedition Eddie Bauer last night and picked up an 07 Escalade this afternoon. :cool2:

I'm loving it so far. And so is definitely she!!!

Escalade has been on our (her) wishlist for quite some time now and now that the opportunity presented itself, we decided to jump on it. It has a bit higher than average miles (80K+), but those don't scare me much. I'm pretty convinced it should do well at least another 30-40K. Haven't yet heard whether it has piston slap or not, but I guess we will find that out tomorrow morning. So far I've been lucky with pretty much all my recent GM vehicles (00 Z28, 99 TransAm and RCSB NBS Silverado) and none of them ever had it.

Haven't yet checked out all the RPO codes, but will do that in the next few days just to see what it actually has and what not. Well, it definitely doesn't have navi or DVD system, but that's okay. Not really a fan of OEM navi systems and in the four years we had the Expedition, we never even once used the DVD. The older daughter already has her own car and the younger one is only six months from getting hers, so no need to entertain them much anymore.

So far the only thing I noticed is not working is the heated steering wheel. Hopefully it's nothing too big...

Even though I was against it, she also wanted an extended aftermarket warranty (4 years/unlimited miles) for it, so at least some things that might go wrong might be covered. :bigroll: It should be a good company, even though I guess there's no such thing as a good aftermarket warranty company, but we'll see...

And then... To end the post, the usual "must have" picture.

Congrats................. I love my 07 EXT... I have piston slap in mine but after investigating and reasing up, I am not concerned at all. I love that engine and as far as I am concerned the gas mileage is very good, comparibly speaking. I am seriously thinking of finding another, marinizing it, and dropping it in my boat.

I will say though that even though I do not use the Nav much, that touch screen is a nice option and very convenient.

Now all you need is bluetooth.

Not to switch subjects here but any one get bluetooth working in a 07 without nav / bose system?

Thanks!

I'm sure the gas mileage will not be much worse than it was with the Expedition and, frankly speaking, I really don't care. These things are not bought for gas mileage. If it gets 13-14mpg in city driving, I'm fine with that. I like the ride and the power of the L92.

Yeah, the touch screen would've been nice, but oh well. Bluetooth would definitely be nice. Can that be retrofitted somehow? A friend of mine had 06 (or maybe 07) STS a couple of years ago and at least wasn't able to get BT since he didn't have factory nav.

Thanks!

Same vintage Navigator was in very close competition but it was just too much like the Expedition we had, just a bit more posh, and the styling wasn't really quite there for us. :suspect:

Hence the Escalade. Got pretty much all the stuff the wife requested: diamond white, quad buckets, no black interior, sunroof, built-in XM etc. :yup:

So far she hasn't found anything she is missing. :cloud9:

Looks good, Punmax. I was first a bit hesitant about the color, but it's starting to grow on me and I'm starting to like it. Hiding the dirt is kind of good/bad thing. She just needs to learn to wash it more often. :annoyed:

Wheels are one of the few things I've thought about doing. No specific plans yet. 18s definitely look kind of small. However, I want the ride to remain as close to stock as possible, so I don't want to go too big. Need to have some sidewall on the tire.

The Expedition had 20s on it and the ride didn't suffer at all, so that will probably be the way to go for me.

Just came back from a quick 250 mile road trip and even though you guys probably already know this, I gotta tell you that this thing is just friggin' awesome on the road!!! :worship:

Even though there was nothing really wrong with the way the Expedition went down the road, but, IMO, this thing is from another planet! :cool2:

Wow... Just wow...
