About three times now I've been behind a 2015 Escalade and something on the rear of the car makes my escort radar detector go off like crazy with K and KA band. At first I thought it was an isolated incident but now it's happening every time, is this the rear parking sensors?

Fairly well documented issue with cars that have blind zone alert- the blind zone sensors are installed in the rear of the vehicle and do use radar to detect the position of other cars around it.

I thought I was the only one who had this issue happen(I have a cobra iradar detector that works with my iPhone)

Multiple times because of the newer trucks it's went nuts due to that(almost felt like throwing it out the window one day if it hadn't kept me from getting a couple tickets the day before)

Sigh I hate to have to invest in a different detector because of this

Btw it ain't just gm vehicles causing it

The only other vehicle that it happened to me once was a 2015 LTZ Tahoe.

That's funny u say that. I have a cheap radar in my work can and I was going to throw it out the window the other day because it kept beeping. It ended up being a cop and it saved my ass!

New generation radars from Belltronics and Escort are selectable what signal is. I got one, it's very quiet, little even scary, but it does know when cop and when it's just some other thing. Because cops radars are operating on on specific band.

Crash avoidance system triggers K-band. Best thing to do is get the Escort 9500CI and turn off certain frequencies within the K band that trigger these falses. K-40 radar now also has glass mount detectors that don't false.

Mine wasn't a cheapie unit(it was 150 bucks)
I always check around when it does go off to be sure it is a cop or a false alert though some times it will beep constant(solid multi beep in the k band) if it's from a vehicle with the crash system
Other times it's a spaced beep(beep-beep-beep) that speeds up as the cop gets closer
It also shows on a app for my iPhone as to the band and how close it is

It has saved me from getting a ticket multiple minus one time when I got targeted by a cop who didn't use his radar(jerk just said I was doing the speed he claimed so I paid that ticket and said f it)

I will keep that in mind if I ever replace mine

I'm running a Qi45 and have yet to see any issues. The only thing that sets mine off is the traffic radar that they use to sense backups/stop & go and stuff. I'm pretty accustomed to those spots now, and almost don't even notice when it goes off. I don't recall what I paid, but I want to say it was around $700.
