QUESTION: Obviously, the new unit is stronger, but does anyone know what the differences are? Did they jettison the aluminum components, did they re-engineer the gears or the case, did they thicken the parts, did they change the ratios, is this the unit from the Z06????? What's the difference?

its the STS's rear end. Im assuming a thicker case and the obvious, a stronger set of internals...

I hope you get it. I just had mine replaced last week and they put another 05 diff in. They also forgot to strap the left muffler back up, so the next day they wings on the muffler dropped down below the rear skirt and scratched it up pretty bad. Hard to find good help .

The case is now made of a magnutonium alloy and is 12 jigameters thicker. The ring and pinion were pre-treated using an 8 step process including cryo-sphyncterization. The output shafts were hardened and flogmigulated to ensure long life. Overall I'd say there is no doubt that with continued krogdeflamatory rectalizationary chromatoidal.....................
