New CTS-V

Traded in my STS on a new CTS-V. Must say it's an awesome car. I noticed on the way home last night that the stereo didn't sound right. Got it home and was able to mess with the controls, and found that the speakers on the passenger side are not working.

Guess it's a trip back to the dealer a day after delivery. Anyone ever had this problem or know what it may be? Both the front and rear speakers on the passenger side do not work.

I also just traded my STS V for a CTS V and love it!
I have to check out what you're saying about the stereo.
I have been enjoying driving it so much I haven't paid attetion! lol.
Congrats!
Yeah -CONGRATS!!! Some details? Auto or manual, color, ... ???

Sorry to hear about the stereo probs. Did you find your way to the balance screens, etc., and try to adjust?

Rob
Yes, found all the audio adjustments, that's how I know for sure it's the right side that's out.

Sounds almost like mine - except for the auto. Congrats once again!

The line workers must not be paying attention... OR bad parts... Haven't seen a lot of problems from forum members.
under the audio controls (there are lots of them...a group for each band, AM, FM, XM, etc) there are settings that say things like "Driver", "center", etc. Make sure the driver option is not selected as that will only employ the driver side speakers.

Thanks,
Mark
I think musclesbmf is wrong. Selecting "Driver side" as an optimization option does not disable all but the driver side speakers. It provides an optimized sound pattern for the driver, but does not disable any speakers. At least, it didn't on my car.

That is my experience in other cars with the same "driver" audio option.
Yes, the "driver" setting just adjusts the audio for more sound on the driver side. The dealer found the problem. Loose wire somewhere. It sounds great now. :cool2:
