Hi there, guys!

Well, let me introduce myself. My name is Francisco (you can call me Frank). I live in Barcelona, and I'm glad that such a great Cadillac forum does exist.-

I hope I'll learn a lot from you guys, and of course, if I'm able to help in anything, I'll be more than happy to do it.-

Well, and here comes my question, just asking for advices. I'm an American Car lover, and right now, I own a Chrysler 300 M 2.7 V6; it works great, never a problem; but man, a few days ago I saw the Cadillac SRX 2005 and I felt in love with it inmediately.-

If you guys could give me some "pre-buying" advices, I would really appreciate it. I saw one V8 in great condition, but probably the gas consumption, could be something serious here in Spain and with our gas crazy prices. :bonkers:

Well, soon I'm gonna visit a car dealer that sells one; could you tell me which parts of the car i should check over all?? You know, the "secrets" of the car, possible problems, etc.

Thank you very much, and I hope to make some nice friendships here! ;)

Hi,
Great to welcome some European Caddy Enthusiat ! Congrats for the world cup !
I'm from France and I recently bought a 2007 V8. Euro SRX are very loaded as they often have AWD, Nav, Panoramic Roof and Sport suspension and MRC, especially V8's.
Techs and specialist here will help you a lot.
What I would suggest is to look for engine, trans and diff leaks, suspension noises and so on. Test drive is mandatory in order to appreciate the smoothness of the tranny.
Ultraview roof has to be checked, as water in jack area.

Even if gas mileage is really bad (15l/100) with the Northstar it is not much better with the V6. On the other hand V6 seems to me less reliable than the V8. My advise would be to go for a V8. SRX are pretty well unknown from European sellers, I found very helpfull to decode the VIN number on this site (currently down for maintenance) in order to exactly know options on my vehicle.

Good luck !

Heyyyyy!! Ça va bien, mon ami??? lol.

Thank you very much for your advices! I really appreciate them. And coming from a European friend, who know for sure that the gas consumption can be a serious issue here, I feel better.-

But anyways, I wouldn't use the car every day at all. Just weekends, and short trips to Costa Brava.

Soo, the Vin Number?? Well, that website says it has over...100 million vehicles in their database! woww! I'm gonna try if my Chrysler is there! lol

OK, I'll check the things you told me, my friend. If you want, I can send you by PM the link where I found the Caddy I want. Could I?? You can take a look, and probably tell me your opinion.

Well, merci beaucoup! And of course, you are invited to Barcelona and Costa Brava. You have no excuse, we are close! Thanks again for all your help!

Au revoire! :yup:

Sure you can drop me a PM, and thanks for the invitation. Same for you if you plan to visit Paris !
As for gas consumption, you can count on :
Highways : 13l/100 @ 130km/h
City : 18l/100
Roads : less than 12l/100
AVERAGE 14/15.

Oh, thank you very much for this data. I found it really useful. It's pretty high, right? Well, 13l/100km, 130 km/h. Lord....even if you wanna have a relaxed trip and don't provoque that 320 hp engine, your wallet will feel it! lol.-

Anyways, I'm gonna stop complaining about this; it's an american car. And I love them.

So yours it's not the 4WD?? My wife wants the 4WD, no question about.-
When I get it, we have an appointment in Nice, all right?? :yup: Half way for both of us.-

Take care, and thanks again!

PD; I tried to send you a PM, but it seems I still cannot, because of my low number of messages posted. Don't worry, MODERATORS-TEAM, I will not post unnecesry messages in order to reach that number.-
