Hello, I have an 02 Seville SLS and I just put new front rotors and pads on it as the old ones were warped and would pulsate when braking. I am doing the brake in after a few stops they start smoking and have a weird smell. Is this normal? I dont want to screw somthing up but I want to be care free knowing that if its normal or not. I installed them with a knowledgable tech friend, but he left and I am alone for the bed in of the rotors+pads. Thanks.

Sounds like pad is rubbing against rotor entire time. Could be stuck caliper or pad not properly seated. When you compress the caliper it is important to push it back in straight. the slightest angle could cause it to stick causing the pad to maintain constant contact with the rotor. This would cause the pad and rotor to become very hot VERY Fast (you could cook an egg) and cause the smoke and smell.
