It shouldn't hurt to continue driving it and there is likely damage to a sensor causing the safety systems that rely upon that sensor to shut off. With a hit like that followed by error messages I would suspect a wheel speed sensor but usually that also triggers an ABS system warning if a wheel speed sensor is out of tolerance. As Art noted just drive more carefully until you get it to the dealer since stability control is now turned off; of course watch your acceleration -especially on wet roads- until you get it to the dealer.

Have the dealer take a close look at the tire and wheel that hit to check for any damage and have the tire balance checked. A really hard hit can damage the bearings in that hub assembly and if that occurs the wheel speed sensor will no longer indicate properly.

Thanks for the feedback.....i shut it off and on at several different intervals and it didnt go away but then decided to drive it and after a few miles the lights went out and everything seems cool now. Still trying to figure out how a stabilitrak / TC warning has anything to do with rough idle conditions...weird:)
Stabilitrak and TC rely upon controlling engine power as a major part of their ability to reign in the vehicle, first by retarding timing for slight power reduction and closing the throttle when more power reduction is needed. If the engine isn't running/responding properly then the calibrated control algorithms won't work as intended and the intervention could make the situation worse and not better. So if there is an engine operation issue these systems will turn off and the system malfunction warning is displayed. Other failures within the system, such as various sensor issues, will also cause the system to turn off but if it cannot rely upon the powertrain to respond as intended then it has to shut these systems down.

When the current generation Corvette was fairly new in production there were several incidences of Stabilitrak/TC turning off and it was due to spark plug coil wires that weren't properly seated during production. Although in several cases the owner didn't feel the change in engine operation/performance it was sufficient to cause these "nanny" systems to shutdown.

Any significant engine issue will turn off the TC and stability systems because the controller can only apply the proper corrective measures when the engine is operating as expected so the TC and Stabil... function are just more symptoms of an underlying engine issue.

Given what your engine is doing, it won't be difficult for them to find the problem which could range from cheap (i.e. coil pack) to expensive internal damage. If it is out of warranty, then a Cadillac dealer is going to be the most expensive repair choice.

Hopefully that clears the problem and a misfiring cylinder will definitely set those codes. For a short time during early Z06 production, it was common with the C7 generation of the Corvette to have a plug lead pop loose in the first few hundred miles scaring a bunch of new owners that their car had suffered a severe failure given the warning lights and rough running engine.

Your shop is doing the right thing by also replacing the plugs because a damaged plug, either leaky due to carbon fouling or open due to wear or failure, can lead to failure of the associated coil pack. At the very least, always replace the plug associated with a failed pack while also closely checking the plug lead, and in most cases it makes sense to replace all of the plugs unless recent replacement has already occurred. Cadillac updated the ECM software for the 2.0T early in ATS production and at the same time switched to a lower temperature range for the ATS plugs; your shop should have the correct information but the specs listed in the owner's manual are probably for the older incorrect plug that was part of what led to piston and ring damage in some 2.0T engines.

Is the code you are getting p0340 which IS a camshaft position sensor code? P0035 indicates a problem with the turbocharger bypass control which your 2.5 doesn't have.

Did you replace the CPS? If so double check the connector and wiring around it and the connectors at the ECM end also.

The code is p0035, when I googled that code under cadillac ats error code p0035, it showed me camshaft positioning sensor. I replaced it and no change in symptoms. I looked at the wire connected to the sensor and it looked intact. As far as tracing it back to the ECU I have not checked that. Is the ecu located in the front passenger side?
Unless Cadillac redefined the codes away from OBD II standard for the 2.5L, which is not likely, the OBD II industry standard code definitions can be found here and P0035 references the turbo bypass valve sensor/controller: P00xx OBD-II Powertrain DTC Trouble Codes

Maybe run by one of the auto parts stores and let them scan it, maybe your reader is doing something strange.
