Picked up my Light Platinum 3.6 last night (Lux and Sport packages, sunroof, auto, and Bose). I really like the way it handles. I had hoped the suspension with the Sport Pkg would be firmer than the std and it is a nice level of firmness, really handles nicely and I like the variable assist steering. The driver controlled shifter is also nice, great for using engine braking.

At this point I'll probably stay with my factory wheels and tires through the winter but do want to install the V grill and the E&G exhaust tips. Will probably attempt one of the air breather mods, as well. Do the E&G exhaust tips require any special tools or fittings to install?

I've been loitering in the wings while I waited for my dealer to locate my car for me. A lot of interesting, and educational threads. I really enjoy the forum.

:welcome: to the forum and congrats on the new addition. I'm sure you'll enjoy it here.

I've installed the V grill as well and did a Volant intake mod. Looks sharp IMO. I can't help you out with the E & G tips but I would assume a screw driver would be the only tool you need. Look on ebay for those tips b/c E & G products are expensive. Good luck with the new car.

you'll need a screwdriver and a drill (gotta drill the holes in the exhaust piping to insert the screws)

I just installed a set of E&G exhaust tips 2 nights ago. Its really easy. You can simple slip them over the existing exhaust pipe, drill 2 holes, then screw in the screws, and you're done. I choose to do a little more work and cut 1/4 inch off the tail pipe. This allowed me to square up the exhaust pipe and also to reduce the amount the exhaust tips extend out beyond the bumper. I really don't like the fact that E&G stamped their logo into the top of the tips. I think it looks terrible so I wanted to try to hide the logo so its not visible. I mostly succeeded.

Check out the TonyA air mod (many have done it - The Thread is under TonyA mod) also several have done the volant (pricey in comparison) and most have decided the K&N is not the way to go, (too much noise) but it is another option. Checking into a used V exhaust gets you a little better sound slightly bigger pipes and you can pick them up from a V member who upgrades from I've seen free to $150, around the same price as the tips plus instal from a muffler shop.

Welcome and look forwrd to seing a picture of your ride!!

I had scanned the threads this past week and noticed the number who had installed the V exhaust. I'm holding off on buying the E&G tips until I explore that idea further. I also read the TonyA and Volant threads and am mulling over which way to go. I have read the TonyA FAQ but haven't seen anything on the Volant install. I am not especially mechanically inclined, not completely "challenged" :banghead: but probably borderline, so ease of installation will be key for me.

Thanks for all the "welcomes," I've enjoyed the group the past two weeks as I read up on everyone's CTS mods and ideas.
