What voids a cadillac warraty?

specifically rims and wheels. also does it void full warraties or just certain parts of it.

i put 20s on the cts and my parking brake is loose/not grabbing but it was like that before the rims and i dont want to go to the dealer and him tell me it was because of the rims, or decline warranty

put the stocks back on before you take it to cadillac, just so they cant make up some BS.
wheels shouldnt void a warrenty.
dealer warrenties vary from dealership to dealership, in the near future, you should visit your local dealership and find out whats what in regards to your vehicle's warrenty.
for mine, i can do whatever i want to the appearance of the car, they love when you add cosmetics. Mines leased so i was real hesitent -- the guy told me "it only adds value to the car" ... so when i return it, they'll actually be making some additional $.
However, they told me to not touch the engine, unless the part i'm adding comes with a certificate or something that says it "will not void vehicle's warrenty" <-- like K&N

point being,
wheels shouldnt void your warrenty. But, to be on the safe side, put the stocks back on and go to the dealer with your problem. They'll take care of it, and while you're there ask them "if i add rims, would it void my warrenty" and sit down and talk with the guy about the "do's and dont's" regarding aftermarket modifications

good luck and :welcome: 2 the forum

for a "friendly" dealer in your area. quote magnuson-moss all you want, but a dealer can and will void your warranty whenever they want to.
have the stockers? put em on before you visit. dont have em? cross your fingers

Urb's right.

My aftermarket 18" wheels were challenged by the SM when a steering sensor went bad.

Welcome, boricp. There's a lot of corporate knowledge and enthusiasm in this group & I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I do wonder about this "enhanced value" attributed to adding big wheels & skinny rubber, etc. I think the dealer might get a few extra bucks if he can find the right customer.

But I know our dealer prefers a stock appearing vehicle - says excessively large wheels/rubber alone cuts his prospective customer pool down to about 25% or less of those who are looking for a particular car.

Many are apprehensive about the background of a modded vehicle - others simply are turned off by the rough ride, while still others like the big wheels, but want to do their own personalization.

Eh, it's a crapshoot...
It really does just depends on the dealership. If the dealer wanted too, they could technically say that the warranty is void for any part of the car that has anything to do with the tires/wheels; ie brakes, suspension, steering etc. Like said above, it's just a crap shoot & if you still have the stockers, I'd put them on when you take it in.

Sit down with srvc mgr; have some coffee; be nice to him/her. It will pay off in the long run. We complain about stealerships; but we sometimes forget to be truthful when we are doing the talking. It is ok to put the orig wheels back on. Remember to establish a bond with srvc mgr or your particular service writer.

Treat those people right, and they will reciprocate.
With my new ride I asked to meet the Service Manager and I asked about his attitude on mods. He said great. They do a lot of mods right there. Its comforting to get off with a good start.
Pics?
