My 1960 caddy eldorado biarritz convertible. I need drive train help to check it over and replace or fix a few things. Body is all good. I need desperately recommendations for looking over the engine to determine its health, fixing tranny leak and I think a blown radiator. Then various electrical and elec motor items. Anybody know of anyone in central Florida for this.

There are lots of body shops but I don't know much for all around classic specialist. There is usually someone who specializes in engines, trans, exhaust, etc all separately. There is a more high profile place called muscle cars and handlebars which I believe did restoration stuff. Last time I passed by it looked like their place was being rebuilt though. I think they have a website.

Try to get your hands on Mike Kelly's cruise news which has lots of ads from classic type companies. They hand them out every week at old town to cruisers.

I will check out the cruise news, thank you that is very helpful. I did find a website for a calendar of gatherings in the orlando area. I'm still in Chicago since i have not yet permanently moved down but my plan is to make one of the gatherings to ask the guys who they use. I will check out the place you mention. This is really sucking for me as the car is at Auto Boat Storage near the airport and i haven't had enough time when i'm down there to deal with the car since i'm there to see progress on my future house. The couple of shops I drove by did not inspire confidence so still looking.

I need an engine guy first though.

Best place to talk to lots of people is old town in kissimmee on a saturday night when there is a ton of classic cars out there. I go on fridays so I don't really have the contacts with those folks. If you can get ahold of the right couple of people, you will end up getting the names of shops that can help you. I think you will find that some good places will be on the outskirts of central FL like ocala, leesburg, tampa, lakeland, auburndale, deland, daytona.

Also check out http://www.midfloridacruisers.com/ This is a website/forum that lists alot of the local car shows and cruise ins around central FL and people communicate on there. You could probably register and throw out a request for some help. If I can think of anymore good ideas I'll post them up. If you want I'll save the next cruise news I pick up at old town for you and get it to you somehow. They do have a website for it too.
