i got a 2003 CTS and today when i started it up the air condition was on the highest setting, well it the air flow speeds up and slows down... the fan or something (i dont know much about air conditioning). it doesnt do it when you turn it down one notch but when on high it speeds up and slows down constantly. what could be causing this?

I've noticed it will do this in AUTO mode because it is trying to get the cabin at the temperature thats on the screen (This I'm told is normal) Take it off AUTO mode and then put it on the highest setting and it should not do the changing of the fan speed up and down. If it does then I would take it in for a check-up and see if the sensor for the A/C temp or the relay is faulty. Good Luck!

Ive actually got an 03 with a year left of warranty on it( I love buying cars from old people). If this is a fixable problem I hope you do have warranty, or it sounds like it will be a pretty pricy fix. dam dealers cahrge so much for electronic work.

Ut ohh..he's stereotyping us OLD PEOPLE!:yup:
I sounded more like a complement to me! He's saying that "old people" know that if you take care of your car, it will last much longer.

That and they drive so slow its impossible to cause damage even if they hit anything! :nyanya:

i don't know about that one...around here old people LOVE driving into Mcdonalds and Burger Kings because they confuse the gas with the brake.

recently, some old guy ran his car into a burger king, walked through the damage then ordered his usual coffee. thats bad.

just imagine buying on 03 in summer 05 with only barely any miles. If a young person owned it, it would have so many miles because us youngins have nothin better to do but drive around. just kidding, but really, older people(and i should specify age because when you get real old you drive into buildings but i don't want to offend anyone) take care of their cars some much better.

My Mom is 86 and still drives. She's a worry wart but she gets around fine. No accidents and no buildings hit. I'm not ready to enter her in a gymkhana though.:D Her Malibu is 6 years old with 17,000 miles. A real cream puff.

I am retired and put 25,000 miles on my '04 CTS the first year; twelve thousand of that on one trip. My wife hates to fly and I love to drive. A marriage made in heaven.
