Need Help with removing the red positive cover from battery

Hi, I can't seem to figure out how to get the positive cables red cover off of the battery.. Im trying to attatch a trickle charger.. Any help appreciated.. Tnx.

^^^ - Are you referring to the red battery connection cover under the hood? If so, I removed the red cover to make the positive connection easier to access with a charger during the winter months, (when the V is not driven much).
