Need Help with removing the red positive cover from battery

Thanks for the replies... I was talking about the cover in the trunk.. When you squeeze it, only a small top portion opens up and the rest stays on.. It was not enough for me to get my battery tenders alligator clips on.. So..... The red positive terminal cover under hood is also a good place to attatch the tender?? It seems so far away.. And where would i attatch the battwry tenders ground cable clip?
